The Department of Biological Sciences at The State University of New York at Buffalo is inviting applications for a Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor (10-month) to begin Fall 2020. This is a non-tenure-track position with an initial three-year contract and the possibility of renewal.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Develop and teach BIO 129 lecture (Human Biology).
  • Develop and teach BIO 129 lab (Human Biology).
  • Teach one semester of BIO 303 (Physiology).
  • Develop and teach BIO 313 (Physiology lab).
  • Develop and teach an additional single semester course that improves Biological Sciences offerings on campus.
  • Coordinate courses being offered with the Undergraduate Affairs committee.
  • Ensure courses conform to all University course requirements and content is regularly updated to provide the students with the best possible educational experience.
  • Develop and head a new Experiential Learning Program to promote and facilitate experiential learning opportunities for Biological Science majors.
  • Coordinate the crediting and documentation process for the Experiential Learning Program with relevant UB offices.
  • Develop relationships with, and a listing of, local industry, nonprofit organizations, governmental offices, and non-UB academic settings seeking interns and volunteers.
  • Inform students about existing and potential partnerships that can provide experiential learning opportunities.
  • Maintain good records of student applications to experiential learning opportunities, performance therein, and reviews of said experiences.
  • Represent the Biological Sciences Experiential Learning program at student orientations, open houses, and other relevant functions and meetings.
