Visiting Faculty in Biomedical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering (MBE) at Boise State University invites applications for a part-time, non-tenure track Clinical or Visiting Faculty of any rank. The position will begin in August 2019 and ends May 2020. Women, minorities and under-represented groups are highly encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate must have a M.S. or Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a closely related field. Responsibilities of this part-time, non-benefit eligible position include teaching 3 credit hours per semester in undergraduate electives in biomechanics and biomaterials; holding regular office hours for students; and fulfilling basic service duties to the department. This faculty member will have the opportunity to interact with other BSU faculty as they build and develop a new Ph.D. program in Biomedical Engineering. All outstanding candidates will be considered, but preference will be given to those with previous experience teaching undergraduate biomedical courses and/or those with research expertise in biomedical engineering.

Boise State University is the largest university in Idaho, with enrollment of more than 22,000 students. The Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering Department at Boise State is enjoying unprecedented growth in both its research activity and educational programs. New faculty members will find a dynamic intellectual environment where cross- disciplinary collaboration is frequent and encouraged. In addition to hosting a nationally acclaimed undergraduate program, Boise State is a Carnegie Doctoral Research University, and our faculty are successful in obtaining funding from a wide variety of sources including the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, and the Department of Energy. The MBE Department and College of Engineering offer multiple Master and PhD level degree programs.

Requirements: An earned M.S. or Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is required at the time of appointment.

To Apply: Application materials should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of teaching goals and contact information for at least two professional references. Please submit all application materials at secureforms.boisestate.edu/coen/mbe-department-faculty-application-form/.
