The College of Optometry at The Ohio State University invites applications for a clinical track faculty appointment. We are seeking a candidate who will be an enthusiastic team member of our faculty, committed to training future clinicians, and serving as a role model for the profession at the College, State, and National level.

Applicants at all career levels are encouraged to apply. Depending on qualifications, an appointment will be made at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level. We are conducting a broad search rather than emphasizing any particular clinical area of expertise. Clinical interests may be in any of the following areas: contact lenses, binocular vision, pediatrics, vision rehabilitation, primary care, or ocular disease. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the academic mission of the College through teaching and service, as well as engage in scholarly activity related to their clinical and academic focus.

The successful candidate should have an OD (or equivalent) degree, eligibility for Ohio Optometric licensure, and have completed an accredited residency program or have equivalent experience.

The Ohio State Univeristy is one of America’s largest and most comprehensive academic teaching and research institutions. As Ohio’s best and the nation’s 16th ranked public university, Ohio State is further recognized as a top-rated academic medical center. The College of Optometry has clinics within the University and the community that serve diverse populations. Columbus is as robust as the University with a diverse community and economy, serving as the capital of Ohio. It is the 14th largest city in the United States with a continuously growing population of nearly 1 million residents. Cultural and recreational opportunities abound, housing costs are low, and schools are outstanding. More information on the College and University is available at http://www.optometry.osu.edu.
